By accessing or using Sommos ("Service," "App," "we," "us," or "our"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, do not use Sommos.
You must be at least 18 years old to use Sommos.
We may modify these Terms at any time. Material changes will be communicated via email notification, prominent notice in the App, or 30-day notice period before changes take effect.
Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
To use Sommos, you must provide accurate and complete information, use a valid email address, create a strong password, and be a real person (no bots or impersonation).
Keep your password confidential, notify us immediately of unauthorized access, accept responsibility for all activity under your account, and do not share your account with others.
You may delete your account at any time through Settings. We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms, engage in abusive behavior, upload illegal content, or attempt to circumvent security measures.
You may use Sommos to record family stories, share stories with family members, create family trees, and access AI-generated titles and reflections.
You may not use Sommos for illegal content, hate speech, harassment, spam, graphic violence, sexually explicit material, or any content that infringes intellectual property rights.
If you encounter content or behavior that violates these Terms, please report it to abuse@sommos.live.
You retain all ownership rights to your audio recordings, photos, and text. By uploading content to Sommos, you grant us a limited license to store, transcribe, generate AI content, and process your data.
Transcription (Deepgram) converts your audio to text, and AI Enhancement (Anthropic Claude) generates story titles and reflections. AI is not perfect, and we provide no guarantees on accuracy.
If you believe content on Sommos infringes your copyright, send a DMCA notice to dmca@sommos.live. Sommos®, the Sommos logo, and all related branding are trademarks of Sommos Inc.
Sommos integrates with Anthropic Claude, Deepgram, AWS S3, Expo Push Notifications, and Neon PostgreSQL. Your use of these services is subject to their own terms and privacy policies.
Sommos is currently free during the Alpha testing phase. Subscription pricing may be introduced in future versions, and existing Alpha users will receive advance notice.
Your use of Sommos is governed by our Privacy Policy. You may export all your data at any time in JSON format, and you may delete your account at any time with data retained for 30 days.
SOMMOS IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND. TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, SOMMOS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR LOSS OF DATA, INACCURATE OUTPUTS, OR SERVICE INTERRUPTIONS.
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Sommos from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your violation of these Terms or your use of the Service.
These Terms are governed by the laws of Delaware. Any dispute will be resolved through binding arbitration, not court. You may opt out of arbitration by emailing legal@sommos.live within 30 days.
These Terms constitute the entire agreement between you and Sommos. We may assign these Terms to a successor entity, but you may not transfer your account.
